With student debt at an all-time high and on-time college graduation rates stagnant, it is increasingly critical that students start preparing for their future careers during their K-12 education. Improved collection of postsecondary outcomes data, the integration of education and workforce data, and the creation of user-friendly tools for data use and analysis -- taken together -- are urgently needed to improve life outcomes for all students.
At the ASU GSV Summit, district leaders of these initiatives will explain some of the groundbreaking efforts they are leading to harness data in ways that can help create reliable and affordable postsecondary pathways for students. Chiefs for Change - a diverse, bipartisan network of over 30 state and district education leaders - will lead a candid conversation about the challenges and obstacles districts currently face in accessing necessary data, and will discuss possible solutions that would provide education leaders and policymakers access to useful, actionable data.
