The “Elite 200” will present at the 2020 Summit from March 30th to April 1st in San Diego.  Three companies will be chosen as finalists during the Summit, receiving a prize package of $250,000 cash and $100,000 in Google Cloud credits.

What is the GSV Cup?

In its inaugural year, the GSV Cup Competition is a call for early stage education and talent tech companies to apply to be one of the “Elite 200” presenters at the 2020 ASU GSV Summit from March 30th to April 1st in San Diego. Those companies selected to be among the “Elite 200” will then compete to win the GSV Cup. The top three companies will compete on StageX at ASU GSV XI on Wednesday night, April 1st and take home prize money totaling $250,000.

Who Should Apply?

Technology companies in the education and workforce sector (edtech and hr tech) that are seed or pre-seed stage capital.

What is the Elite 200?

The top 200 pre-seed and seed education and talent companies chosen out of the pool of GSV Cup applicants. All companies in the “Elite 200” will receive a comped ticket to the ASU GSV Summit for the CEO/founder from the company, as well as a special entrepreneur rate for the presenting company team.

When is the application due?

The application is due December 1st.

Who are the Judges for the Elite 200?

Leading Global Venture Capital firms and strategic partners in the education and talent space will be judging.

Judges, confirmed to date, include representatives from: Accel, Achieve 3000, Battery Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Better Ventures, Bisk Ventures, Chegg, Chicago Ventures, Connectivity Venture Fund, Cooley, Correlation Ventures, ECMC, First Round Capital, Founders Circle, GGV Capital, ICONIQ, Ingram, Lightspeed, M25, NEA, Sapphire Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Softbank, Tenaya Capital, The Impact Engine, Touchdown Ventures, and more to be announced.

Will I know which Venture Capital Firm reviewed my application?

Unfortunately, no. We cannot disclose who judged your application unless the judge decides, on their own, to reach out to a company they have judged.

What is the GSV Cup?

The GSV Cup Counsel.

When will I know if I am part of the Elite 200 and invited to present

We will release decisions around December 15th.

Note: if you are not selected as an “Elite 200”, you will still receive an entrepreneur rate discount to attend the summit. We will contact you with a code.

When will I know if I am a finalist?

Once selected as an “Elite 200”, we may be contacting you to obtain additional information to evaluate GSV Cup Finalists.

We will determine finalists by February 1st. Three finalists will compete for the GSV Cup on Stage X on Wednesday, April 1st for $250,000 in prize money.

What is the framework for evaluation?

Judges will focus on the “5 P’s”: People, Product, Potential, Predictability (Milestones/roadmap), and Purpose (what is the corporate mission).

If I've previosuly presented or talked at the GSV Summit can I still apply?

Yes! Absolutely.

Can I present virtually?

No. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate virtual or remote presentations.
