Simon Nelson is passionate about digital disruption. At the BBC, he pioneered taking media brands and content online including the BBC's podcasting service and Radio Player before moving to television to lead the development of the BBC iPlayer. As CEO of FutureLearn, the leading social learning platform jointly owned by The Open University and The SEEK Group, he leads the charge to transform access to education by developing a best-in-class platform, working with universities to enable them to transform digitally, and promoting collaboration between universities and industry to address the increasing skills gaps. FutureLearn has ten million learners globally, partners with over a quarter of the world's top universities, and works on government-backed initiatives such as The Institute of Coding and the National Centre for Computing Education. Simon's teams have won Emmys, Webby and Bafta awards, the Prix Italia, Prix Europa and Rose D'or for digital innovation and product development.
