Dan is Co-Founder and Chief Academic Officer at Newsela. Prior to co-founding Newsela in 2013 with his long-time friend Matt Gross, Dan worked for 20 years in education, starting out in Teach for America and most recently serving as Director of Digital Learning at Achievement First Public Charter Schools in Connecticut and New York. He holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Brown University, and Tufts University.
