Brittany is a passionate educator currently working in Chicago, Illinois. Focused on the empowerment of marginalized communities, influencing teacher leadership, elevating arts programming and being an educational advocate for justice & equity. A native of Chicago and graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, she brings firsthand experience with the challenges faced by many of Chicago's youth. As Assistant principal at Kipp Bloom College Prep in Chicago's Englewood, Brittany has implemented transformational trauma informed care practices. Through her work as equity council co-chair for the region, she helps students and staff better understand themselves and the complex systems they are part of in an effort to create more equitable and inclusive spaces. Brittany is an All-Star Cheerleading coach, a proud Mizzou Tiger and current 2020 Surge Fellow.
