Building and Sustaining Career Development in K-12

The World of Work initiative launched three years ago in the Cajon Valley Union School District has demonstrated that career development and related learning can be integrated in the classroom starting in the earliest grades. The panelists will speak to the importance, the research, the tools, the buy-in, and the alignment to labor market information that formed the theory of action for launching and sustaining this career development initiative.

Stay after the panel to explore how to extend equity to all students through inclusion of a path to financial freedom. To achieve this goal, Cajon Valley School District blends career development with personal finance starting in the early grades. Join the curriculum designers from the World of Work™ Initiative in Cajon Valley to explore how federal student aid tools can help students envision their future possible selves and become managers of their own careers, on a path to gainful employment and financial freedom.
