Hailing from a small town in China, Yixiao has always had her sights set on making a positive impact in the world. After dabbling with numerous ideas and experiencing the thrills of entrepreneurial success, Yixiao came to Boston looking for opportunities in the rapidly expanding biotech sector. What she found instead was an industry with high barriers of entry not only to the core knowledge, but also with respect to using the instruments and interpreting experimental instructions. After a year of learning, Yixiao set out to found Feles, with the dream of enabling everyone to learn and invent using biology.
