Ryan O'Mahoney is the Managing Director of Short Courses at 2U, Inc. where is he responsible for the overall success of the GetSmarter Short Course Product. He is based in 2U's Cape Town office and leads a team of over 600 2Utes committed to improving lives through better education. Previously Ryan served as GetSmarter's Chief Marketing Officer in the executive team that quadrupled the market size of GetSmarter in 3 years, and which led to their successful acquisition by 2U, Inc. in 2017. Prior to GetSmarter, Ryan worked as the Sales and Marketing Executive for Performance Brands where he built up the First Ascent and Capestorm brands. Ryan has a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from Stellenbosch University as well as an MA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford. Ryan is an enthusiastic motivator who likes to expand the realm of his and his team's possibilities.
