Robert Sedgewick is a Professor of Computer Science at Princeton University, where he was the founding Chair of a department that is now the largest major in the history of the university. He served for 26 years as a member of the board of directors of Adobe Systems. He is a leading researcher in algorithm science and analytic combinatorics and a pioneer in innovative approaches to the dissemination of knowledge. Sedgewick has authored 20 books and co-maintains four websites that attract millions of hits per year. He is best known for his series of Algorithms books that have sold 1 million+ copies and his six MOOCs that have attracted 1 million+ learners. Sedgewick received the Leroy P. Steele Prize from the American Mathematical Society for the 2009 book he co-authored, Analytic Combinatorics. He won the Karl V. Karlstrom Outstanding Educator Award from the Association for Computing Machinery for textbooks and online materials that have educated computer science students worldwide.
