Dr. Novak currently serves as Vice President for Continuing Studies and Distance Education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey providing executive leadership for the Division of Continuing Studies, a University-wide complex system of continuing education units, distance learning and off-campus learning facilities, offering credit and non-credit educational opportunities across the lifespan in face-to-face and online formats. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a leading national research university and the state of New Jersey's preeminent, comprehensive public institution of higher education. Established in 1766, the university is the eighth oldest higher education institution in the United States. Novak is also an associate member of the graduate faculty for the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, teaching courses in educational technology and adult education. He is a Past-President of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association.
