Mike founded and is Exec Chair of Catalyte, which uses AI to build technology workforces for the world's most progressive companies. With the goal of improving productivity and results of software engineering, Catalyte reduces implicit bias related to race, class, and gender. Its workforce, which is over 750 people, mirrors the metro areas in which it operates. He also is Chair and CEO of Arena, which uses AI to rewire labor markets around outcomes. It is used by over 850 healthcare locations together processing approximately 2.5 million unique job applicants per year, roughly 12% of the US healthcare workforce. When predicting for retention, it has a median impact of a 20% in the first year of deployment and 43% in the second. Previously Mike was an Olin Fellow in Law and Economics at Harvard, where he worked on applying data to the most subjective of human endeavors, and served at the White House as an economist. He has a JD and a BA from Harvard and an MSc, Economics from LSE.
