EDUCATION DESIGN LAB

Kathleen founded the Education Design Lab six years ago, as the disruption of higher ed was beginning, to help different stakeholders create valuable new offerings for learners in the age of unbundled and skills-based learning. The Lab has worked with 125 learning institutions, 60 employers and a dozen foundations and funders to build proof points toward the promise of a skills-based learning and hiring market. Previous to the Lab, Kathleen has launched three other successful national education non-profits and foundations. She spent 15 years as a TV journalist and 5 years as a consumer product developer at AOL. President Clinton named her as the first woman spokesperson for the Department of Defense. She was appointed by two Virginia governors to the governing board of George Mason University and spent several years as a communications and marketing executive at Sallie Mae.
