Greg Gazanian is the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for the Arcadia Unified School District in Arcadia, CA. He oversees organizational culture, strategic management, and innovation across the 9,300 student district. Greg was first hired by the district over 20 years ago as a student after a teacher asked him if he thought he could "hack the network." He gained access to district systems and was on-boarded as an employee the next day. Through his time in Arcadia, Greg has written software systems to support student learning, lead data analysis efforts to yield insights regarding all students, facilitated a year-long process to emerge a new district purpose statement and list of values and has managed initiatives across the organization. Greg's hacker ethos persists in his effort to transform education in order to increase learner agency and reimagine educational organizations as agile, adaptive, and supportive structures of change.
