Dan Brown is the Director of National Engagement for Jefferson Education Exchange.
Dan previously led Educators Rising, a national organization that supports community-based efforts to build "Grow Your Own" teacher workforce pipelines. He served in the Office of Education Technology at the U.S. Department of Education, and taught in New York City and Washington, D.C., earning National Board Certification. Some of Dan's consulting clients have included American Institutes for Research, the D.C. Public Charter School Board, and the Council of Chief State School Officers.
Dan is the author of The Great Expectations School, and co-author of Start Here to Become a Teacher, a guidebook for aspiring educators. He also contributed a chapter to The American Public School Teacher: Past, Present, and Future, published by Harvard Education Press. Mashable has named him one of "10 Rockstar Teachers on Twitter."
