* Dr. Elizabeth Schwartz, Founder, is a pioneer in education technology. She served 20 years as Assistant Superintendent for the Ladue School District, St. Louis County, MO. Her doctoral dissertation, A Visual Approach to Learning Mathematics in Elementary Schools (1975), was based on her work with early math learning. With MIT's Seymour Papert she produced a 12-part video series, On Logo. That year, she was named Scholastic's 1985 Computer Educator of the Year. Bettie left the District in 1995 to found the Evergreen Project, an early EdTech startup. Over a four-year period, Evergreen created numerous science-related products for grades K-6. In 2000, Ask Jeeves purchased Evergreen. Bettie remained as V.P. of Education until Ask Jeeves itself was acquired. In 2016, she founded MathBRIX. The company has been awarded two NSF/SBIR awards – 2016 for MathBRIX Classroom, its K-2 math enrichment program; 2019, ThinkPlayful, the home companion designed to increase parent engagement in the child's education.
