Talented, Passionate and Underrepresented: Investing in Latino Edupreneurs
Strong Latino entrepreneurial talent exists in education. But NewSchools has a persistent Latino leadership gap across our portfolio and this is an issue for many funders across the field. We asked ourselves: What should we be doing differently to engage Latino leaders? What partnerships should we develop? What language should we use? We completed a study on how to find, fund and support more Latino-led organizations, so our sector is better equipped to meet the needs of public school students. We also deepened our understanding of the stories of Latino leaders to inform our work. Come join this session to hear the experiences of three incredible Latino education entrepreneurs who will share their journeys with us, steep yourself in the insights from our research, and consider what we should be doing as investors to fund more Latinos.
