Harnessing the Full Spectrum of Evidence for Next Gen Learning

Does personalized, deeper, student-centered learning work? Can it enable K-12 students to develop core academic skills and the essential 21st-century skills they clearly will need to thrive after high school? We can’t answer those questions using only the testing data recognized by the accountability systems all U.S. public schools are subject to, today. But: what if we could use the full spectrum of available evidence of the effectiveness of these forms of learning, including powerful qualitative and narrative impact data -- especially, the reflections of the students themselves?

In this interactive workshop, participants will join the Full Spectrum project of Next Gen Learning Challenges (NGLC) and, guided in small groups by NGLC’s pioneering educator-grantees, explore how schools nationwide are making good use of the “full spectrum” right now.
