Career Services Must Die, Part 2
In 2013, Andy Chan gave a TEDX talk called, "Career Services Must Die" which challenged colleges and universities to completely rethink the traditional delivery of career services. Sadly, not much has changed at the majority of college campuses; career services continues on pretty much as before - with dissatisfied students, alumni and employers having to struggle on their own. True breakthroughs in career services will come when higher education embraces career as part of it's academic core instead of a fringe student affairs offering. Learn why most colleges are not able to change from the inside - and why the answers will require completely novel, scalable solutions that will be valued by college academic and administrative leaders, students and corporations who reside “well beyond career services”.
